Work Sim


In this 40-hour program, participants practice new skills through interactive, real-world activities that simulate every phase of employment from job search to work performance reviews.

Types of Activities•

  • Team Meetings: class instruction and small group exercises are delivered in an environment that simulates a work team meeting (14 hours)
  • Hands-on Project: working with a professional mentor, teams complete a project, practicing problem solving, communication and time/task management skills (16 hours)
  • Online Learning: in these self-paced activities, participants review job search advice, research local career options, “chat” with employers, and check their understanding of key concepts (6 hours)
  • One-on-One Practice and Guidance: participants practice interview skills, develop an individual job plan, and discuss personal barriers one-on-one with program instructors (4 hours)
